“Sand Sea” is a term to describe a dune located in the caldera area of sand, which is the oldest sequences. One of the most famous tourist attractions in this area besides Mt. Bromo is “whispering sand”, a natural phenomenon that occurs due to the friction between sand, cliffs and strong winds. Whispering Sand is also documented in a phenomenal film with the same title, which won several international awards.

in this area we can visit Pura Luhur Poten, a very famous temple used as the main place of worship for Hindus Tenggerese Ethnic. Yadnya Kasada, the greatest religious ceremony of Tenggerese, is also held annually in this temple.
